Today we spent several hours traversing the
Italy countryside by train. We took great trains that all had air conditioning! I have loved to look out the windows at all the passing scenery (I have attached one of my pictures from the train.) It has been amazing that most of the fields have been corn (not grapes and olives) and I have yet to see corn on any menu. I love seeing the way that the Italians live - some in small shacks, that remind me of my trip to China and the Dominican Republic, and some in castles on hillsides looking over a beautiful valley. This trip has been a great experience to see life from so many different perspectives.
We made it to Cinque Terre not long ago, had a snack provided by the hotel and are going to wander the town. From the little we have seen it is beautiful, we just needed to check our car reservation on the Internet, so I thought that I would say hi to you all. Can't wait to show you pictures and share stories when we get back.

Hey!
ReplyDeleteHey Beth and George,
ReplyDeleteSound like you're having fun! Hey, could you change the Blogger security to allow for "anonymous comments" so that folks like Jess and your mom can comment even though they don't have a blog site themselves? Thanks!
Ross
I'm glad you made it there! I can't wait to hear about the driving adventure, we were never brave enough to rent a car (or old enough probably too), I can't wait to hear what you get to see from the country roads!
ReplyDeleteHi Beth and George! Wow, sounds like things have been amazing. Train rides, cooking class, wonderful food, fresh perspective! So glad you are having a blast. We have enjoyed our time at your place. Good time to get in tons of studying and also check out some of the running trails and fishing nearby :) We are off to Spokane for the day tomorrow with Mom and Dad to visit Grandma. Not quite a exotic as Italy, but fun will be had at some of the well-known attractions of the Spokane Valley like Ron's Drive-in, Splash Down, and Broadway Estates! Love you both and thanks again for letting us stay in the 'Quah. Love you both!
